Friends of Deep Time
DeepTime is Fruitmarket’s festival for new music which takes place each winter in our purpose-built space for cross-artform work – the Fruitmarket Warehouse. Programmed with a different curatorial voice every year, each edition takes a generative theme as its starting point. By joining as a friend of Deep Time today you will empower us to support world-class composers, musicians and artists to take creative risks, explore interpretive and collaborative ways of making work, test new commissions in front of live audiences, and explore the frontiers of music and contemporary art.
In November 2025 the festival is curated by Pulitzer Prize-winning Diné/ Navajo composer, performer and artist Raven Chacon. Deep Time: I See Red is an acknowledgement of current urgencies of ecological and civil unrest through the liberation of loud noises. Over three days, Chacon and artists from the US, the UK, Canada and Lebanon will be prompted by these emergencies and by each other, responding with sound and other voices.
