Set of nails made by Holly Allen
Nine Inch Nailsss is the brand of Holly Allen, a Glasgow-based, multidisciplinary visual artist with a fashion background. Holly’s mission is to create accessible, wearable art and her current medium is nails which she views as portable paintings that become part of your every day.
Allen has responded to Barry Le Va’s work. The nail artist has taken Le Va’s use of mark making and documentation of chance and applied them to the surface of a set of nails. Allen has also pulled from Le Va’s later collage works and created irregular shapes with some of the nails. The set is a fun and concept-rich way to wear a response to a body of work. Each set comes in a custom tiny art crate has 10 nails, a cuticle pusher, nail glue, and a small nail file.
