London based artist Emma Hart (b.1974, London) makes sculpture, photography, film and installation. Her work is often bold, ‘badly- behaved’ and reminiscent of the objects and things that inhabit our everyday spaces. In a series of double-sided ceramic windshields from Hart’s 2018 exhibition BANGER, visual puns and patterns fill the field of vision. They say something about windscreens as the threshold between internal experience and external reality; a surface on which the anxious patterns and repetitions of the mind might be projected onto the arc or a wiper blade or the flash of a headlight. This special edition screen print created to celebrate the exhibition further develops the motifs found in these ceramic works.
