Scottish artist Jim Lambie (b. 1964, Glasgow) is known for vibrant, visually compelling work that makes its magic from fairly humble materials. Tinfoil and coat hangers, jackets, mirrors, records, turntables, potato sacks, plastic bags and household paint are repurposed with a joyful, punk sensibility. Lambie’s practice is steeped in references to music. This 12 inch vinyl record is produced in a very limited edition of 30 copies. With 10 tracks including Trans-Europe Boyzilian and (I can’t get no) Boyzilian, this exclusive edition was made on the occasion of Lambie’s retrospective at Fruitmarket. Each record – never to be played – has uniquely arranged painted pop rivets applied to the vinyl surface.
