Stan Douglas
This book was published on the occasion of Stan Douglas’s exhibition of new work for Fruitmarket and of Helen Lawrence, Douglas’s innovative play/film which was performed for the first time in the UK at the Edinburgh International Festival in August 2014. Writers include Fiona Bradley, Director of Fruitmarket, whose introductory text looks at memory, invention and reinvention in some of Douglas’s work; Simon Baker, Curator of Photography and International Art at Tate, who has brought his knowledge and insight to bear on Douglas’s MidCentury Studio series of photographs; and Amsterdam-based cultural analyst Mieke Bal, whose closely-argued text further develops her on-going scholarly understanding of the work of this internationally important artist.
This was a limited print run.
